Jan 22, 1999В В· Hilary and Jackie is a film that can be appreciated on many levels. The performances of Ms. Griffith and Ms. Watson as the title characters were superb, but so were the actors that played the parents and husbands, and the two young actresses playing them as girls were terrific. Hilary marries Kiff, has children, and settles in a rural area. Jackie is afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis, which first manifests itself in dementia, and later in complete paralysis. Jackie dies in 1987. The movie is presented from two perspectives, first through the eyes of Hilary, and second through the eyes of Jackie.
